I love all of Robin's books! And I am so happy that I got to see Sierra and find out what happened to her! It was like catching up with an old friend! I love the story, and how both Sierra and Jordan had great life goals for which they thought life was supposed to be about for them. God had a better plan, but it fulfills both their dreams more than they had pictured!

I grew up reading the Christy Miller, Sierra Jensen, the Todd and Christy series! I also loved the glenbrooke series so much more now that I'm out of college and older and can appreciate the characters story more. I am excited to read cottage by the sea, which is about Jordan's mom, and has some information about how Jordan and Sierra end up!

I have read some of Robin's non-fiction as well. Still great books! Robin is a star!

Robin Jones Gunn has another winner with Love Finds You in Sunset Beach, Hawaii! After a long absence from Gunn's stories, Sierra Jensen returns with new maturity to face some difficult choices. Sierra's struggles are issues we all face at various times finding our place to serve God, balancing our own desires against others' needs, making good career decisions, pursuing our dreams, sacrificing control of our lives, and waiting for God's timing. When Sierra begins to focus on loving God, rather than trying to earn his approval, she finds peace. And in the midst of her new delight in God and His creation, amazing things happen!
I really enjoyed this chance to follow up with Sierra and find out what happens with her. The story starts out a little sad because Sierra finds herself at loose ends, but it quickly grows brighter when she finds herself in Hawaii for a sabbatical. While her story doesn't end like I thought (or wanted it to when I read the original Sierra Jensen series), I love where RJG takes the story and how it all ends.
Great book! I am currently making my way through almost all of Robin Jones Gunn's series and this one did not disappoint. I love how she interconnects characters so they get to reappear in different novels. I feel very connected to all of her characters due to her writing style
I grew up with Sierra Jensen and Christy Miller through Robin's writing and was so excited when this book was released to continue Sierra's story. I loved learning about parts of Hawaii and what had been happening in Sierra's life. As a Christian, there is something about Robin's characters that makes me feel like I know them in real life. I'm always sad when I finish the book, because I know they are only in my imagination along with Robin's. This is a great read that I couldn't put down. There was some description that bothered me a little in some redundancy, but that was not as much by the end of the story as I was caught up in the story. I loved the spiritual emphasis of the book as in Robin's other books too! )
I am a huge fan of Robin Jones Gunn. I started reading the Christy Miller Series when I was 11, and after that I read the Katie Weldon Series and Sierra Jenson Series. loved them all. This is the last Sierra Jenson novel. I liked it. I am not a patient reader. For me, the storyline needs to pick up steam by the 2nd chapter. I though it took a little while for the ball to get rolling in terms of the storyline, but the book overall was enticing and interesting. I thought that the main (girl) character (Sierra Jenson) seemed to be different in this novel than the earlier years of her series. I think that the book could have been more.... Sassy. But, to sum it up, it was a nice, fun, easy summer novel that would be attractive to many different women from ages 12+. This would be a good book for a birthday or Christmas gift. However, I would highly reccomend to READ THE SIERRA JENSON SERIES FIRST. Good book)
I loved this love story of Jordan and Sierra. They first meet at a wedding on Maui before going to Sunset Beach. She is a mission worker from Brazil on vacation with another girlfriend. She has to switch jobs when she goes back but it's not what she wants to do. Her mom invites her back home to Santa Barbara. Jordon is from Santa Barbara but has been offered a wonderful high paying job in Hawaii. Will he stay or will he go back to Santa Barbara?
This is the first book I've read by Robin Jones Gunn, and I loved it! I could just feel the beauty and magic of the Hawaiian Islands. It was written from both Jordan and Sierra's point of view, which I enjoyed. And often after showing us an event through one point of view, the author would rewind and show what the other person was doing or thinking at the time. That was really fun! I felt like I really got to see what was going on as the story unfolded. I'm glad I read this book and went along with Jordan and Sierra as they tried to figure out what was next in their lives and what really mattered most.
